Sierra Leonean artist Alhaji Amadu Bah, known professionally as Boss LAJ, and entertainment promoter Prezo Koroma were remanded in custody on April 8, 2026, following their appearance at the Bo Magistrate Court No. 2. The proceedings, presided over by Magistrate Samuel James Braima, involve allegations of cyberbullying, defamation, and the use of insulting language directed at Thomas Karimu Baio, the Mayor of Kenema City.
The charges originate from a performance held on March 21 at the Bo City Shopping Plaza. Prosecutors contend that Boss LAJ used abusive language against the Mayor, which was subsequently circulated on social media to cause public distress. These actions allegedly violate the Cyber Security and Crime Act (2021) and the Public Order Act (1965).
Defense counsel Madieu Sesay raised preliminary objections regarding the validity of the criminal summons and discrepancies in the offense particulars.
Despite these arguments and a bail application, the court ordered the defendants to remain at the Bo Male Correctional Centre. The case is adjourned until April 14, 2026, for a formal ruling on the defense's objections.
