Business Tycoon Remanded Over Alleged Larceny and Assault Case in Freetown

A businessman identified as Ibrahim Sesay has been remanded in custody after making his first appearance before Principal Magistrate Mustapha Briama Jah on multiple serious criminal charges including larceny, wounding with intent, and assault causing actual bodily harm.

The accused is alleged to have stolen three cartons of tiles valued at over three thousand Leones, property belonging to complainant Alhaji Salliue Jalloh. The alleged incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Howe Street in Freetown.

Court documents further state that during the same incident, Ibrahim Sesay allegedly wounded Alhaji Salliue Jalloh with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He is also accused of maliciously damaging the complainant’s property and assaulting him in a manner that resulted in actual bodily harm.

When the charges were read and explained in court, the defendant did not enter a plea, as the matter is still at the preliminary investigation stage.

Prosecutor CSP Tommy Zizer served the indictment on the accused to allow preparation for the case.

The defendant was not represented by legal counsel in court, and no bail application was made on his behalf. Given the seriousness of the allegations, Magistrate Mustapha Briama Jah ordered that Ibrahim Sesay be remanded in custody.

The matter has been adjourned to May 17, 2026, for further hearing.
