Cannabis-Laden Tanker Intercepted at Bandama/Wanjama Checkpoint

On Saturday, October 25, 2025, at approximately 2:50 AM, security personnel at the Bandama/Wanjama Checkpoint intercepted a tanker driven by Joseph Kanneh of 4 Nyamui Street, Kenema, bearing registration number AKJ 785.
A search of the vehicle revealed a significant quantity of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis sativa.
The driver informed security personnel that he loaded the cannabis sativa after a passenger, who boarded between Mile 91 and Moyamba Junction, loaded the substance. The passenger is currently at large.
The matter has been transferred to the Kenema Police Station for further investigation.
