Charles Mambu, Chairman of the Coalition of Civil Society and Human Rights Activists Sierra Leone (CCSHRA SL), has formally commended President Julius Maada Bio for his administration's decision to discontinue all court cases against former President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma.

The legal move, facilitated through the Office of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, is being viewed as a tangible demonstration of the government's commitment to the full implementation of the Tripartite Agreement under the framework of the Agreement for Peace and National Unity.

In a press statement, Mambu noted that the national leadership of the CCSHRA SL fully endorses this decision, characterizing it as a vital step in the pursuit of peace, stability, and national cohesion.

"We firmly believe that our country has perished for far too long and it is only through total peace and unity that we can continue to rebuild," Mambu stated.

He further noted that the return of Sierra Leone’s former democratically elected president to his home country is a significant move in the right direction.

Addressing the public, Mambu urged the people of Sierra Leone to set aside political and personal differences, encouraging them to accept the President's decision and welcome Dr. Koroma back with "open arms".

Concluding his statement, Mambu emphasized the importance of reconciliation, asserting that

"Sierra Leone is always greater when we embrace each other".
