Five individuals, including two household cleaners and a bike rider, have been remanded without bail after being accused of conspiring with outsiders to steal $25,000 USD from a residence in the Western Area.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges during their appearance before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No. 2.

The accused — Mariatu Bangura (a cleaner), Alhassan Sankoh (a cleaner), Katimu Sillah, Noah Koroma (a bike rider), and Fatmata Sillah — face three counts: conspiracy, larceny by servant, and accessory after the fact.

According to court documents, on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, the accused allegedly conspired with unknown individuals to commit larceny by servant at #8 Author Drive, First Bango, Goderich.

It is further alleged that on the same date and location, Mariatu Bangura and Alhassan Sankoh, while employed by Zahra Khadar, stole $25,000 belonging to their employer.

The third count specifically implicates Katimu Sillah and Fatmata Sillah, alleging that they aided and assisted Mariatu Bangura and Alhassan Sankoh in stealing the money, despite knowing the theft had occurred.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Sorie Conteh requested an adjournment to present his witness. Defense counsel M.Y. Conteh, Esq., applied for bail, arguing that the accused are Sierra Leonean residents with reliable sureties and would not interfere with witnesses or abscond.

However, Magistrate Fornah denied bail, citing the seriousness of the alleged crime.

The case has been adjourned to September 16, 2025.
