Cocoa Dispute Turns Violent as 19-Year-Old Allegedly Slashes Man’s Neck in Kailahun

A 19-year-old man has been arrested by police in Kailahun District after allegedly attacking another man with a cutlass during a dispute over cocoa seeds, leaving the victim critically injured.
The suspect, identified as Bockarie Mohamed of Mansata Section, Kailahun Town, is alleged to have lacerated the neck of Sallieu Ensah, also of Mansata Section, during an incident at Bajaih Bush in the Bundehs Town Section of Kailahun.
According to reports, the incident occurred n Wednesday 29th July 2026 following an argument between the two men over cocoa seeds. Ensah sustained serious injuries to his neck and is currently receiving treatment at the Kailahun Government Hospital, where he is said to be battling for his life.
Following the alleged attack, Mohamed reportedly fled the scene but was later apprehended by community members, who handed him over to the police for further investigation.
Police are expected to continue investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident as the suspect remains in custody.
