Cole’s Stunning Free-Kick Hands Kamboi Eagles Victory Over Blackpool

Kamboi Eagles boosted their survival campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Mighty Blackpool at the Kenema City Field on Wednesday, 24 June 2026, dealing a major blow to Blackpool’s fight against relegation.

The decisive moment came as early as the 11th minute when Kamboi Eagles’ left-back, Kaomi Bamidele Cole, unleashed a thunderous long-range free-kick that dipped and swerved beyond the Blackpool wall to give the home side the lead.

Despite conceding early, Mighty Blackpool pushed forward in search of an equaliser and created several chances throughout the match. However, Kamboi Eagles’ defense stood resilient under pressure.

Goalkeeper Abu Bakarr Bangura proved instrumental for the hosts, producing a series of crucial saves to keep Blackpool at bay. His impressive display earned him the Player of the Match award.

The victory extends Kamboi Eagles’ remarkable home form to six consecutive wins since caretaker coach Ishmael Kallon took charge. The result moves the Kenema-based side to 45 points, confirming their safety from relegation.

For Mighty Blackpool, the defeat leaves them stuck on 37 points with only three matches remaining, as their battle for survival intensifies heading into the final stretch of the season.

Kenema City Field has increasingly become a fortress for Kamboi Eagles under Kallon, with the team remaining unbeaten at home since his appointment.
