Contractor Sent to High Court for Robbery

A 25-year-old contractor has been committed to stand trial before the High Court following a ruling that sufficient evidence exists in an alleged violent robbery case.
The defendant, Samuel Kamara, stands accused of attacking Charles Robbin on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at the Wilberforce Municipal School Field. Prosecutors allege Kamara struck Robbin on the head before stealing his personal belongings.
Kamara faces one count of robbery with aggravation under Section 23(1)(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916, as amended by Act No. 16 of 1971. Court documents state he was armed with an unidentified weapon during the incident.
The stolen property valued at Le36,800 includes a wallet, driving license, National Identification Card, voter ID, US$400, Le400 in cash, a Samsung A17, and an iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Delivering the committal ruling at Pademba Road Court No. 1, Principal Magistrate Mustapha Briama Jah stated he was satisfied with the prosecution’s evidence. Inspector M. K. Taylor prosecuted the matter.
Bail was refused, and Kamara remains in custody pending trial in the High Court.
