Daru Rehabilitation Center Receives Humanitarian Support From SLAF, Social Welfare Ministry

The Sierra Leone Armed Forces (SLAF), led by the Commanding Officer at Daru Headquarters, CO Dassama, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Welfare, Sierra Leone, carried out a distribution of essential relief materials to service users at the Daru Rehabilitation Center on Thursday.


The exercise provided soap, clothing, drinking water, and other basic necessities, aimed at improving the welfare and daily living conditions of individuals currently undergoing rehabilitation at the center.


During the distribution, CO Dassama reaffirmed the SLAF’s commitment to supporting humanitarian initiatives that enhance the well-being and recovery of vulnerable individuals. He emphasized that the military remains dedicated to contributing to social protection programs in collaboration with civilian authorities.


Representatives from the Ministry of Social Welfare highlighted the importance of multi-sectoral collaboration, noting that such partnerships ensure that service users receive the care, dignity, and support necessary for effective rehabilitation and reintegration into society.


Service users at the center expressed gratitude for the assistance, acknowledging that the donated items would help them maintain hygiene and comfort while undergoing treatment.


This distribution reflects the ongoing partnership between the SLAF and social welfare authorities in promoting recovery, care, and social protection for individuals enrolled in rehabilitation programs across Sierra Leone.
