Domestic Violence Victim Appeals on Behalf of Abuser

Recently, a video emerged online showing Vincent Bakarr Kanu assaulting a woman. This video was shared on several blogs and activist platforms.

Upon further investigation, it has been revealed that the video depicts a domestic dispute involving a husband assaulting his wife, who is a new mother of twins.

The couple resides in the eastern part of Freetown.

Sources indicate that the incident began when the husband discovered his wife speaking to an ex-partner on a video call, which the ex-partner had recorded.

Family insiders have disclosed that this abuse is not an isolated incident but rather a recurring issue.

They further report that the wife is now isolated and only communicates with others in the presence of her husband, indicating a pattern of control and abusive behavior.

The wife has reached out to the blog platform, Salone Kongosa, requesting the removal of the video depicting the assault. Her voice note has been published by the platform.

Activist and folksinger Fantacee Wiz, who personally intervened, has expressed concern about the husband's behavior during and after the incident.
