Electrician Remanded in Custody on Serious Wounding Charges

Abdul Conteh, a twenty-three-year-old electrician, has been remanded in custody following his initial court appearance before Magistrate Augustine Brima Samura at Pademba Road Court No. 8. He is facing three serious charges related to the alleged assault and wounding of another individual, Abubakarr Kamara Buba.


The charges against him include wounding with intent, contrary to Section 18 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861; wounding, contrary to Section 20 of the same Act; and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, contrary to Section 47.




According to the particulars of the offence, Mr. Conteh is accused of wounding Mr. Buba with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm on Monday, 24th November 2025, at #13 King Williams Street in Freetown. The subsequent counts detail the malicious wounding and assault that allegedly resulted in actual bodily harm.


During the hearing, Mr. Conteh did not enter a plea as the matter is currently under preliminary investigation. The prosecutor, Detective Police Constable 14898 Joseph Lamin Dumbuya, confirmed that all relevant documents had been served to the defendant. Magistrate Samura denied bail, remanding Mr. Conteh to the male correctional facility in Freetown. The case has been adjourned until 22nd December 2025.
