The Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) which is the primary power Supply agency has written a request to the Government requesting an increase in its tariff from 11 cents to 23 Cents. This was revealed by the Minister of Information and Civic Education Chernor Bah whilst giving an update of the government's activities during their weekly Tuesday Press Briefing.
This was proposed to the overseeing body, the Water and Electricity Regulation Commission.
Minister Chernor Bah furthered that the Government has not conceded, having to go through several processes of public notification and engagement.
He informed the Press present that the main reason for the request was due to the dollar increment and the loss incurred by the company on expenses.
