ETU Inaugurates 2025/2026 Student Union Government Officials

The Eastern Technical University of Sierra Leone (ETU, SL) successfully hosted a formal Inauguration Ceremony for its newly elected Students' Union Government (SUG) officials for the 2025/2026 academic year on Friday, January 9th, 2026. The event, held at the Ahmad Tejan Kabba Hall on the Main Campus in Kenema, convened students, university management, distinguished guests, and various student leaders.


The inauguration procession, symbolizing unity and the transfer of leadership, began at Cee Curve on Blama Road and proceeded to the main campus. It was led by the SUG President, Mariame Baimba Keita, and Vice President, Umaru Konneh, accompanied by their cabinet members in official regalia.



In her inaugural address, President Mariame Baimba Keita articulated a commitment to transparent, dedicated, and inclusive service. She underscored the administration's focus on student welfare, enhancing academic support, and fostering a robust collaboration with university authorities.


The official swearing-in of the Vice President, cabinet officials, and other government officials formally commenced a new epoch of student leadership at ETU, SL.


The ceremony was a testament to democratic transition, celebrating leadership and the commitment to represent the student body with integrity, transparency, and a clear vision. It served as a powerful symbol of unity and aspiration, establishing a positive trajectory for student-led development in the coming year.



The event was enriched by messages of goodwill delivered by university administrators, invited dignitaries, and fellow students.
