Famous: Industry Feud, Challenges Ambassador Kao Denero’s Conduct

The Sierra Leonean music industry faces renewed volatility following a public confrontation between R&B star Famous and Entertainment Ambassador Kao Denero.
The dispute intensified after Kao Denero’s controversial remarks at the OBBA 2026 celebrations, prompting a multifaceted rebuttal from Famous that questions the Ambassador’s professional integrity and financial transparency.
Famous criticized the Ambassador for utilizing a national platform to disparage Boss LAJ while the latter is legally incapacitated. Describing the move as a misuse of diplomatic influence, Famous argued that targeting a colleague who cannot defend himself undermines the spirit of industry unity.
The critique extended to Kao Denero’s personal conduct, with Famous suggesting that professional animosity is detrimental to the Ambassador’s leadership efficacy.
In a significant disclosure, Famous revisited the August 2025 legal settlement between the two artists. While the $5,000 court-ordered payment was public knowledge, Famous now alleges that Kao Denero did not personally finance the settlement. It was paid by a third party with lots of appeal by rapper Kao and the unnamed individual.
Furthermore, he revealed that Boss LAJ—the current subject of the Ambassador’s criticism—was instrumental in mediating the peace that led to the charges being dropped.
These allegations characterize the Ambassador as a figurehead reliant on external support rather than independent leadership.
