FC Kallon Defender Sallieu Tarawalie Earns Leone Stars Call-Up for FIFA Friendly Series

Defender Sallieu Tarawalie of FC Kallon has earned a call-up to the Sierra Leone Men’s Home-Based National Team ahead of the upcoming FIFA Friendly Series scheduled to take place in Azerbaijan.


Tarawalie, who is currently regarded as one of the best home-based defenders in Sierra Leone, was selected by head coach Mohamed Kallon following his outstanding performances for FC Kallon this season.


The defender has been in impressive form in the domestic league, scoring four goals, providing one assist, and winning two Man of the Match awards for his club. His contributions have played a key role in strengthening FC Kallon’s defensive line while also adding attacking impact.


Tarawalie’s strong performances have also extended to the international stage. During the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers (CAF), he featured in six matches for Sierra Leone national football team, where he scored one goal and registered two assists.


Coach Mohamed Kallon praised the defender’s defensive solidity, leadership qualities, and consistency, describing him as an important asset for the national team setup.


The upcoming training camp and friendly matches in Azerbaijan are expected to provide an opportunity for Tarawalie and other home-based players to showcase their abilities at the international level as Sierra Leone continues preparations for future competitions.
