Pupils from eight schools in Bo District participated in a quiz and debate competition organized by the Ministry of Information and Civic Education as part of the Civic Day Series.
The final debate centered on whether the government should prioritize Free Quality Education or the Feed Salone Programme. Two students made it to the final round Mustapha Fambulleh from Methodist High School and Haja Mariama Mansaray from Kate McGrath School.

Mustapha argued that agriculture, through the Feed Salone Programme, should be the government’s main focus, while Haja Mariama defended the importance of Free Quality Education. After a competitive final, Mustapha emerged as the winner with 29 points, narrowly defeating Haja Mariama, who scored 27 points.
Earlier, pupils tested their knowledge in a quiz on governance, education, history, and the culture of Bo District. Jestina Smith from Queen of the Rosary School secured first place with 9 points.

Addressing the pupils, Resident Minister for the Southern Region, Mr. John Abu, encouraged them to participate actively and use the event to showcase their talents.

Winners and runners-up received cash prizes, school bags, and exercise books. The Civic Day Series continues tomorrow, with government officials expected to engage residents of Bo District on national issues.
