Fitter Remanded After Admitting Le14,400 Damage to Hyundai Vehicle

A Freetown fitter has been sent to the Male Correctional Centre for records after pleading guilty to maliciously damaging parts of a Hyundai vehicle.


Osman Mansaray appeared before Magistrate Mustapha Briama Jah at Pademba Road Court No. 1, where he pleaded guilty to one count of malicious damage, contrary to Section 51 of the Malicious Damage Act of 1861.


According to the charge, the incident occurred on September 21, 2026, at Kinghama Road in Freetown. Mansaray was accused of damaging the vehicle’s windscreen, two front-door handles and right-side reflecting mirror.


The damaged items were valued at Le14,400 and were said to belong to Isaa Bangura. The vehicle, registration number AUS 965, was reportedly in the custody of Saidu Jalloh at the time of the incident.


Following Mansaray’s guilty plea, Magistrate Jah ordered that he be sent to the Male Correctional Centre for records.


The matter was initially adjourned to October 2, 2026, for sentencing but was subsequently adjourned to October 9, 2026.

Deputy Police Constable 182156 Linda Teh is prosecuting the matter.
