Kekeh Rider Remanded Over Le38,000 False Pretence Case

A 30-year-old kekeh rider has been remanded at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown after pleading guilty to obtaining Le38,000 by false pretences.
Dauda Kargbo appeared before Magistrate Mustapha Briama Jah at Pademba Road Court No. 1, where he was charged under Section 32(1) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of the offence, Kargbo obtained the money from Isatu Sesay on July 14, 2026, at the Officers’ Mess, Wilberforce Barracks.
The prosecution alleged that Kargbo claimed to have a blue TVS tricycle, registration number AYX 776, for sale, knowing that the claim was false.
After the charge was read and explained to him, Kargbo pleaded guilty.
Inspector Kadie Taylor, who prosecuted the matter, told the court that Kargbo had no previous criminal record and was a first-time offender.
Magistrate Jah subsequently remanded him at the Male Correctional Facility. The matter was initially adjourned to October 2, 2026, for the production of records and sentencing, but was further adjourned to October 9, 2026.
