Kekeh Rider Remanded After Pleading Guilty to Le38,000 Fraud

A 30-year-old kekeh rider was remanded to the Male Correctional Facility on Pademba Road after pleading guilty to obtaining Le38,000 under false pretenses.
The accused, Dauda Kargbo, appeared before Magistrate Mustapha Briama Jah at Court No. 1 on charges filed under Section 32(1) of the Larceny Act 1916.
Court records show that on July 14, 2026, at the Officers’ Mess in Wilberforce Barracks, Kargbo collected the sum from victim Isatu Sesay after falsely claiming he had a blue TVS tricycle (registration number AYX 776) available for purchase.
Prosecuting officer Inspector Kadie Taylor informed the court that Kargbo had no prior criminal record and confirmed him to be a first-time offender.
Following Kargbo’s guilty plea, Magistrate Jah ordered him held in custody pending review of his record.
The matter has been adjourned to October 2, 2026, when the court is scheduled to review official records and deliver sentencing.
