State Prosecutor Diallia Wellington has presented a flash drive in court as key evidence in the ongoing incitement case against Mohamed Moriba, a politician, former military officer, and Southern Province Public Relations Officer of the All People’s Congress (APC).
Moriba appeared before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown, where he faces one count of incitement contrary to law.
According to the prosecution, the alleged offence occurred on Saturday, 27 December 2025, at Kamalo Village in the Karina Judicial District, North-East Province. Prosecutors claim Moriba created an audio and video recording containing statements intended to incite chaos, disorder, and public unrest in Sierra Leone. The material was allegedly circulated on TikTok through an account identified as “Salone Gossip Hub.”
When the charge was read and explained, the accused did not enter a plea, as the matter is currently at the preliminary investigation stage.
Lead defence counsel, A. Bangura Esq., applied for an adjournment, stating that the defence required adequate time to examine the prosecution’s evidence, analyse the contents of the flash drive, and engage an information technology expert to determine whether the material had been altered or tampered with.
Magistrate Fornah granted the request and ordered that Moriba be remanded at the male correctional facility in Freetown pending further proceedings.
The matter was adjourned to 25 February 2026.
