Foreign Minister Swaray Visits Embassy in Liberia to Strengthen Diplomatic Ties

Sierra Leone’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mohamed Rahman Swaray, conducted an official working visit to the Sierra Leone Embassy in Monrovia on Monday, September 7, 2026. The visit aimed to assess embassy operations and reinforce the long-standing diplomatic partnership between Sierra Leone and Liberia.
Upon his arrival, Minister Swaray was received by Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Liberia, Eddie S. Massally, who presented the mission's diplomatic, administrative, and support staff.
Addressing embassy personnel, Swaray commended Ambassador Massally’s leadership and expressed appreciation for the staff's dedication to supporting Sierra Leonean citizens residing in Liberia.
In subsequent strategic discussions, Swaray and Massally reviewed key operational priorities to better align the embassy's activities with Sierra Leone’s broader foreign policy agenda. As part of the tour, the Minister inspected the ongoing rehabilitation of the Chancery building.
Emphasizing the government’s commitment to providing a dignified working environment for its diplomatic corps, Swaray noted that modern facilities are essential for effective service delivery and international representation.
Ambassador Massally briefed the Minister on the structural updates, confirming that the renovation project is progressing steadily and adhering strictly to required standards.
The visit highlighted Sierra Leone’s continued focus on strengthening bilateral ties with neighboring countries while upgrading infrastructure to support its overseas missions.
