Jalloh, aged 52, is charged with treason and misprision of treason, accused of conspiring with unidentified individuals to unlawfully overthrow the government of Sierra Leone.
During the court session on Thursday, the prosecution sought a brief adjournment to facilitate further consultation with witnesses, resulting in the postponement of the matter.
Led by Yusif Isaac Sesay Esq., the prosecution asserted the necessity of additional time to adequately prepare their case and ensure a thorough presentation of evidence. Magistrate Kekura approved this request, determining that the prosecution's need for extended witness conferences warranted the delay.
Bail was denied, and Jalloh was remanded to the correctional facility. The case was adjourned until May 28, 2025, to permit the prosecution to finalize preparations.
This adjournment was solely at the prosecution's behest, emphasising their requirement for additional time prior to proceeding with the trial.
