In alignment with the National Drugs Control Act 2008 and a directive from the Chief Justice of Sierra Leone, Hon. Justice Kumba Kamanda, for the expeditious handling of drug-related cases, Magistrate Hadiru Daboh of Kenema has committed four defendants to stand trial at the High Court of Sierra Leone.

The defendants were arraigned on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, facing charges of possession and use of drugs, contravening Section 8(a) of the National Drugs Control Act No. 10 of 2008.

The accused are Musa Sannoh, found in possession of twenty-six wraps of Kush on December 2, 2025; Cherinoh Sannoh, a civil servant, apprehended with dried leaves suspected to be Cannabis sativa on November 30, 2025; Moinina Musa, possessing suspected Kush on November 3, 2025; and Tamba Nyuma, arrested with twenty-six wraps of Kush on December 1, 2025.

Magistrate Daboh denied bail and ordered the remand of all four at the Sierra Leone Correctional Centre in Kenema. In his ruling, the Magistrate determined that the prosecution had discharged its burden of proof, necessitating the committal of the matters for trial at the High Court.

The prosecution was led by Police Sergeant David Idriss of the Legal and Justice Support Department in the Kenema Police Division.
