Four Men Charged with Aggravated Robbery in Mabruka Town

Between May 1 and May 31, 2025, in Mabruka Town, four men conspired to commit aggravated robbery.
On the same date, armed with a pistol, the defendants robbed Mukesh Ray of various valuables, including thirty thousand Indian Rupees (equivalent to 8,310 Leones), thirty thousand U.S. Dollars (equivalent to 723,000 Leones), gold, and other items, totaling Eight Hundred Fifty-Four Thousand, Two Hundred and Nine Leones (854,209 Leones).
The alleged armed robbers, Abubakarr Sesay, Alpha Kamara, Dauda Kelfala Sesay, and Abubakarr Kabia, appeared in court on Thursday, October 9, 2025, before Principal Magistrate Mustapha Briama Jah at Freetown Magistrate Court No.1.
They were charged with robbing two Indian nationals of over SLE 850,000 worth of valuables.
The defendants faced ten counts, including conspiracy contrary to law and robbery with aggravation, in violation of Section 23(1)(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916, as repealed and replaced by Section 1 of the Schedule of the Death Penalty Act 2022, Act No. 6 of 2022.
No plea was entered due to the preliminary investigation, and the defendants, unrepresented, were remanded in custody until October 16, 2025, when the case is set to be heard.
