Fourah Bay College’s Construction of New Campus Mosque

Fourah Bay College (FBC), a constituent college of the University of Sierra Leone, has officially announced the commencement of construction for a new Muslim Jamaat Masjid on campus. A landmark sod-turning ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., and will be held on the site of the previously existing mosque within the college grounds.

As FBC advances into its second century, the college management emphasizes that this proposed ultra-modern mosque is designed to reflect the institution's historical prestige and ongoing infrastructural development. 

This new facility is intended to provide significantly improved space and amenities for spiritual devotion, serving the growing Muslim population among students, staff, faculty, alumni, and the wider college community.

In an official notice, the FBC management extends an invitation to all Muslim community members, internal and external, to attend and witness this significant milestone.
