Home Invasions in Bo: Six Suspects Sent to Prison Pending Probe

Six men accused of breaking into homes and stealing electronics and household items were on Monday remanded in custody after their first appearance before the Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown.


The accused Gbessay Swaray, Foday Sallu, Martin Sallu, Joseph Gekamjie Kamara alias Shine, John Bangalie alias Boika, and Foday Hassan appeared before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah to answer to multiple charges, including conspiracy, burglary, larceny, and receiving stolen property.


According to the police, on 28 August 2025, at Hancil Road in Bo Town, Southern Province, the men allegedly conspired with unknown persons to break into the homes of Kaiker Koker and Lucy Koker, carting away valuable electronics and household goods.


The first to fifth accused are alleged to have broken into Kaiker Koker’s residence and stolen a 65-inch LG Smart TV valued at Le24,000; a 55-inch LG Smart TV valued at Le12,000; a projector worth Le19,200; two solar LED lights (Le3,600); and a Lenovo laptop worth Le12,000 amounting to Le70,800.



They are further accused of breaking into the home of Lucy Koker and stealing a Lenovo laptop (Le2,450), a sealed carton blender (Le18,000), a six-set carton of high-quality dishes (Le7,000), three cartons of assorted dishes (Le15,000), an extension cable (Le500), a Bluetooth speaker (Le2,450), and an iPad valued at Le2,450, totalling Le63,150.


Police also allege that on 6 September 2025, at Banga Farm, Waterloo, the sixth accused, Foday Hassan, knowingly received stolen items from co-accused Martin Sallu namely a solar LED light valued at Le3,600 and a Lenovo laptop worth Le12,000, together valued at Le15,600.


When the charges were read, no plea was taken, as the matter is before the court for preliminary investigation.


Prosecutor C.S.P. Ziza served the case docket, while P.S. Vandy and A.B. Bangura represented the accused persons.


Magistrate Jah ordered that all six defendants be remanded at the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown and adjourned the matter to 1 December 2025.
