“I Saw This Coming” - Alimamy Kamara On APC Leadership Crisis

APC politician Hon. Alimamy Kamara says he repeatedly warned former President Ernest Bai Koroma that allowing Ambassador Osman Foday Yansaneh to lead the All People’s Congress (APC) could create serious problems for the party ahead of the 2028 elections.
Speaking on Liberty Online TV, Kamara said he had spent years raising concerns with the APC’s leadership about the party’s direction and had also appealed to Yansaneh to step aside.
Kamara claimed that APC authorities were aware that he personally raised the matter with former President Koroma in Yansaneh’s presence, warning that the party could face difficulties before the 2028 elections if Yansaneh did not step aside.
He maintained that his position was not based on personal grievances but on concerns about the future of the party, saying he believed the current difficulties facing the APC could have been avoided if his warnings had been taken seriously.
His comments come amid ongoing disagreements over the APC’s leadership and administration, including disputes involving the party’s executive and the Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC). Kamara has also criticised the PPRC’s handling of the leadership dispute and called for changes within the party.
Kamara’s claims about warning former President Koroma and his assessment of Yansaneh’s leadership were made during the interview and have not been independently verified.
