IG Sellu announce Public Auction of Convicted Felon's Property

The Inspector-General of Police has announced a public auction scheduled for Saturday, December 6, 2025, concerning a parcel of land and associated properties located at 44/4, Jones Street, Kissy Village, East, Freetown.

This initiative, authorized by the High Court of Sierra Leone, will be conducted in collaboration with the Police.

The property is owned by Mohamed Sheku Turay, who was convicted of corruption charges in 2022.

The auction is set to take place on the afternoon of December 6th at the specified location, offering approximately 0.0602 acres (or 0.7 town lots) of land for sale under particular terms.

These terms stipulate that the highest bidder will be declared the purchaser, who must sign a bidding memorandum and pay half of the purchase price immediately, with the remaining balance due at the Under Sheriff's office no later than noon on the seventh day following the sale.

A note indicates that the Under Sheriff retains the right to annul the sale if the purchaser fails to meet the payment conditions outlined above.

The sale will also be subject to a reserved price.

Interested parties are encouraged to contact the Under Sheriff at the Law Courts Building, Siaka Stevens Street, Freetown, for further details.
