Jagaban Launches Empowerment Fund And New Community Center

Sheikh Alhaji Mohamed "Omodu" Kamara, widely recognized as Jagaban and an APC Flagbearer Aspirant, formally inaugurated the initial phase of the Le 10 billion(old leones) J-IMPACT Empowerment Fund on March 21, 2026. This inaugural phase involved the disbursement of Le 1 billion(old leones) specifically allocated to bolster female-led commercial enterprises within Constituency 060.

The program is designed to facilitate economic advancement for women through the provision of concessional loans, thereby allowing for the expansion and long-term sustainability of local businesses. Mr. Kamara, a native of Mayefeh Village, underscored the critical role of women in national stability, affirming that this financial assistance represents a substantive commitment to regional economic health.

"The empowerment of women is fundamentally linked to the prosperity of the nation," he remarked, reiterating his dedication to supporting underserved demographic groups.

The proceedings were moderated by APC District Secretary Abu Bakarr Tarawallie. Official welcomes were extended by APC Kambia District Chairlady Salamatu Wordi Bangura, while Kambia District Council Chairman Abdulie Mansaricco Mansaray commended the initiative for its projected impact on district-wide development and gender equity.

Following the launch, Mr. Kamara traveled to Mayefeh Village in the Tonko Limba Chiefdom to commission a newly established multipurpose community facility. The opening ceremony was attended by a significant number of representatives from neighboring communities, including Selah-Kafta, Bayande, Milekey, and Kasimatatou.

The facility, dedicated to the memory of the late Hon. Ernest Dura Koroma, is intended to host a variety of civic and cultural functions, including educational sessions and community gatherings. During the dedication, Mr. Kamara paid tribute to the late Hon. Koroma's legacy, characterizing the hall as a permanent asset for local progress.

Constituency 058 APC Chairman Abdulie Kargbo, alongside PC Alimamy Lamina Kargba IV, expressed formal appreciation for the project, noting its vital role in fostering social cohesion and infrastructure development.

The dual implementation of the J-IMPACT Fund and the completion of the multipurpose center serve as key indicators of a broader strategy focused on sustainable community investment and socio-economic growth.

"Investing in the potential of women remains a cornerstone of national development," Mr. Kamara concluded, emphasizing the core objectives of his philanthropic mission.
