Jagaban Outlines Vision for Progress During Kamakwie Campaign Visit

Sheik Alhaji Mohamed “Omodu” Kamara, the All People’s Congress (APC) stalwart popularly known as Jagaban, made a high profile visit to his campaign camp in Kamakwie this week. In a speech that balanced sharp criticism of the status quo with an olive branch to the current administration, the APC flagbearer hopeful laid out a bold vision for the Karene District and the nation at large.  

Addressing a massive crowd of supporters, Jagaban was quick to clarify his political stance, stating that his intentions are rooted in patriotism rather than hostility.

"I am not here to challenge the government; I am here to complement their efforts," he declared. "The goal should be the progress of Sierra Leone, regardless of who is in power."

However, his tone shifted as he reflected on the state of the nation. 

He lamented that since Sierra Leone gained independence, the masses have continued to endure systemic suffering. He pointed specifically to the dilapidated road infrastructure in and around Kamakwie, citing it as a major barrier to the region’s economic survival.  

Jagaban did not mince words when discussing the leadership crisis he believes has stalled the country’s growth. He spoke passionately about the "wicked leaders" who prioritize their own selfish gains over the welfare of the people. 

Addressing the specific requirements of the Karene District, he outlined several strategic commitments. He pledged to personally oversee the restoration of Kamakwie’s road infrastructure, which serves as a critical conduit for regional commerce and mobility.

Furthermore, he committed to prioritizing the implementation of modern, accessible healthcare services for the residents of Kamakwie should he be elected to office.

In an unprecedented gesture, Jagaban called upon the people of Karene to collaborate in a formal appeal to the current administration. He requested community support in advocating for government authorization to permit his intervention in the provision of essential social amenities, maintaining that public welfare must remain paramount over partisan considerations.

The visit functioned as a significant campaign milestone as Jagaban pursues the APC flagbearer nomination. In his closing statements, he formally sought the mandate of the Karene electorate and the broader Sierra Leonean populace to serve as the nation’s next President.

"I am seeking your trust to lead this nation," he stated. "It is imperative that we transition toward a leadership model centered on national progress, ensuring a prosperous future is accessible to all citizens."

As his nationwide tour continues, this engagement in Kamakwie reinforces his standing as a candidate dedicated to marginalized regions, advocating for a new paradigm of accountability and infrastructure-driven economic development.
