Karene DFA Donates Refereeing Equipment to Boost Officiating Standards

The Karene District Football Association (KarDFA), in alignment with the vision of Sierra Leone Football Association President Mr. Babadi Kamara to modernise and promote football development in the country, has demonstrated strong commitment to improving the standard of officiating in the district through the donation of key refereeing equipment to the Karene District Referees Association.

The gesture is seen as a significant step toward enhancing professionalism, coordination, and efficiency among match officials within the district’s football structure.

The donated items include an electronic substitution board, used for managing player changes during matches, and a referees’ communication set designed to improve real-time communication among match officials on the field. These tools are widely used in modern football and are expected to improve accuracy and decision-making during matches.

Speaking on the development, KarDFA Chairman Mr. Abdul Kandeh Turay described the support as a major boost to officiating standards in the district.

He stated that the equipment will improve match organization and professionalism, enhance communication among referees during games, boost the confidence and performance of match officials, and align local football practices with modern standards of the game.

The donation also underscores the Association’s recognition of referees as a vital component of football development. By providing modern officiating tools, KarDFA is investing in fairness, transparency, and the overall growth of the sport in Karene District.

The initiative further strengthens the relationship between the District Football Association and match officials, while contributing to broader efforts aimed at advancing football development across Sierra Leone.
