Jagaban Urges Unity, Responsible Leadership as Parliament Debates Constitutional Amendments

All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer aspirant Mohamed Omodu Kamara, popularly known as Jagaban, has called for greater unity among Sierra Leoneans and stronger democratic institutions as Parliament continues deliberations on the Constitutional Amendment Bill.

KAMARA joined the APC Parliamentary Caucus at the Parliament Building, Tower Hill, on Monday, August 3, 2026, as lawmakers considered the proposed constitutional amendments.

The APC aspirant said his participation demonstrated his commitment to promoting democratic governance, upholding the rule of law, and supporting constitutional reforms that he believes will advance the interests of the party and the people of Sierra Leone.

“My presence reflects my unwavering commitment to strengthening democratic governance, upholding the rule of law, and supporting constitutional reforms that advance the interests of our party and the people of Sierra Leone,” Kamara stated.

He emphasised that Sierra Leone’s progress depends on strong institutions, responsible leadership, and a collective commitment to protecting democratic values.

“I firmly believe that the future of our nation depends on strong institutions, responsible leadership, and a united commitment to protecting our democracy,” he said.

Kamara also urged APC members to remain united during critical national moments, noting that cooperation and shared purpose are essential to building a stronger party and contributing to national development.

“It is therefore important that we stand together at every critical national moment, working collectively to build a stronger APC and a more prosperous Sierra Leone,” he added.

The flagbearer aspirant said he would continue engaging stakeholders across the country while advocating for unity, accountability, inclusiveness, and sustainable development.

His comments come as Parliament debates the Constitutional Amendment Bill, which has attracted significant public and political attention due to its potential impact on Sierra Leone’s governance and constitutional framework.
