Kamara Stars as Police FC Hold Patricia Umu to Draw

Zainab Kamara, popularly known as “Afellay,” was the star of the show as Sierra Leone Police FC secured a hard-fought 1–1 draw against Patricia Umu at the SLFA Academy Field. Her vision, skill, and leadership were pivotal in helping her team salvage a point in an intense Women’s Premier League encounter.

The match started at a frenetic pace, with both sides battling for midfield dominance. Patricia Umu struck first, taking the lead with a clinical finish that briefly put Police FC on the back foot. For much of the game, it appeared the visitors would hold onto their advantage.

However, Kamara gradually took control of the match. Displaying exceptional ball control, awareness, and timing, she delivered a precise assist late in the game that carved open Patricia Umu’s defense. The resulting goal secured a draw for Police FC, much to the relief of the home side.

Beyond the decisive assist, Kamara’s overall contribution was significant. Acting as the team’s engine room, she consistently regained possession, orchestrated transitions from defense to attack, and kept her teammates motivated throughout the match. Her technical brilliance and leadership earned her the official Woman of the Match award.

The draw keeps Police FC competitive in the upper half of the league standings, while Patricia Umu will rue their missed opportunity to claim full points. The result also highlights Kamara’s growing influence as one of the league’s most impactful players.
