Kenema Hospital Receives Third-Quarter Free Health Care Drugs

The Kenema Government Hospital has received its third-quarter consignment of essential medicines under the national Free Health Care Programme, a move officials say will significantly bolster the delivery of medical services in the district.

The official handover, which took place on Saturday, July 25, 2026, was attended by Hon. Mohamed Lansana, a member of Parliament’s Health Committee. His presence highlighted the legislative body’s oversight role in ensuring that essential supplies reach public facilities and are properly allocated to the intended beneficiaries.

The newly arrived stock is designed to support the government's initiative providing free treatment and medicines specifically to pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children under the age of five. This regular distribution remains a cornerstone of the national strategy to reduce preventable illnesses and mortality rates among vulnerable populations.
