Kenema Police Arrest Three Suspects for Illicit Tramadol Possession

The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) Operations Team in Kenema has escalated proactive enforcement measures against the unlawful possession and circulation of illicit narcotics, resulting in the apprehension of three suspects during distinct operations conducted throughout the city.


On Monday, May 18, 2026, law enforcement personnel detained Ms. Betty Gandi of Lango Town Section, Kenema. During the operational search, six cards containing a substance suspected to be Tramadol were recovered from her possession.


Subsequently, on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, Police Constable (PC) 17432 Augustus J.M and his detail apprehended Mr. Morie Boima in the Mende Koyagbema Layout, Kenema. The suspect was found in possession of fifteen medical substances alleged to be Tramadol.


In a related action on May 18, 2026, the Operations Team, led by PC 17432 Augustus J Musa and overseen by Operations Officer Inspector Conteh, arrested Mr. Wilfred Vandi at the Dauda Town Section. Mr. Vandi, a resident of No. 3 Septimoi Vandi Street, was detained with eight tablets suspected to be Tramadol.


The SLP has formally reiterated its commitment to mitigating the unlawful possession and trafficking of harmful controlled substances throughout Kenema and encourages the public to continue providing actionable intelligence to support ongoing law enforcement efforts.
