The Sierra Leone Police (SLP), Kenema Division, has reported two significant arrests on Thursday, 29th January 2026, as part of its sustained campaign to disrupt the sale and distribution of illicit drugs, particularly suspected Kush, within the municipality.

The first incident occurred at approximately 15:20 hours when the Kenema Division Operations Officer, Inspector M. S. Conteh, and his team, acting under the command of the Local Unit Commander (LUC), CSP Emmanuel Kpulun, apprehended Wuyeah Kamara at his residence, No. 39 Blama Road, Kenema. Officers recovered twenty-one (21) wraps of suspected Kush during the arrest.

In a separate, earlier operation on the same day, at approximately 10:30 hours, Police Corporal 11546 Koroma Augustine and his unit arrested Ansu Boima, known by the alias “Governor,” in the I.D.A Section of Kenema. This operation resulted in the recovery of forty-four (44) wraps of suspected Kush from the suspect.

These arrests are integral to the Kenema Division’s reinforced strategy to suppress drug-related criminal activity. Both individuals are currently in police custody, and investigations are actively ongoing at the Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) to determine the full scope of their possession and potential distribution network for the substances.

The Sierra Leone Police reaffirms its unwavering commitment to public safety and calls upon all members of the public to maintain their support by providing timely and actionable intelligence to aid the fight against drug abuse and associated crimes.
