The Local Unit Commander (LUC) of the Kenema Police Division, Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Kpulun, has engaged community stakeholders and Community Safety Volunteers at Gombu Community in Kenema City as part of efforts to strengthen police-community relations and promote sustainable community policing.
The engagement, held on Sunday, July 6, 2026, brought together key police personnel, community representatives, and Community Safety Volunteers to discuss ways of improving collaboration between law enforcement and residents.
The meeting was attended by the Regional Police Media Officer, East, Sub-Inspector Brima James Musa; Regional Coordinator of the Community Relations Department, East, Sergeant Mariama Bockarie; and Police Constable Alice Agatha Nyagua.
Discussions focused on the importance of establishing organised community policing structures, the roles and responsibilities of Community Safety Volunteers, and the benefits of building a strong partnership between the police and the communities they serve.
Addressing participants, Chief Superintendent Kpulun assured residents of Ngombu Community of the police’s continued support and commitment to working with them to enhance safety and security.
The engagement forms part of ongoing initiatives by the Sierra Leone Police to encourage community participation in crime prevention and strengthen trust between officers and the public.
