Kenema Police Intensify Anti-Narcotics Operations, Arresting Two Suspects

The Kenema Division, under the command of the Local Unit Commander, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Emmanuel Kpulun, is actively supporting the national anti-narcotics campaign.


In a targeted operation on Thursday, 8th January 2026, at approximately 13:00 hours, the Division Operations Officer, Inspector Mohamed S. Conteh, and his team conducted a search at No. 33 Black Street, Kondebotihun Layout, Kenema. The operation resulted in the arrest of Christopher Barjie, a resident of the same address, who was found in possession of seven (7) cards of 250mg Tramadol. 



Mr. Barjie and the confiscated exhibit were subsequently transferred to the Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU) Office in Kenema for detailed investigation.


In a parallel development on the same date, at approximately 12:10 hours, Inspector Conteh and his team conducted a swift town raid in the IDA Section, Kenema. This action led to the apprehension of Yenkay Sesay, a resident of the area, who was found to be in possession of quantities of cannabis sativa seeds and tobacco. 


Ms. Sesay was also transferred to the Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU) for further investigation in accordance with existing legislation.
