The Motema Division of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) officially unveiled its new uniforms on Friday, January 9, 2026, a provision supplied by the Inspector General of Police. This event marks a significant stride in bolstering the Force's professionalism and corporate identity. The launch was celebrated with a vibrant parade at the Division headquarters in Motema, where officers showcased their smart, disciplined appearance in the new attire.

In his address to the assembled personnel, the Local Unit Commander (LUC) of Motema Division, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Mohamed Turay, commended the officers for their exemplary turnout and expressed profound gratitude to the Inspector General for the timely provision of the uniforms. CSP Turay emphasized that a sharp uniform is a direct reflection of discipline, pride, and professionalism in policing.

CSP Turay formally released the Division's yearly working theme: “Commitment to Job.” He urged all personnel to dedicate their utmost effort to national service, stressing the importance of unwavering commitment to duty, responsibility towards their jobs, families, and themselves, and upholding the core values of the SLP. The LUC also lauded the personnel's current display of team spirit and dedication as crucial for effective service delivery.

Furthermore, CSP Turay took a firm stance against indiscipline, quitting, and absenteeism, cautioning that such conduct severely compromises the Force's integrity and efficiency. He mandated adherence to the SLP's mission, vision, and core values, insisting on professional conduct in all aspects of duty.

Superintendent Solomon Koroma, the Support Officer for Motema Division, echoed the LUC’s message, imploring personnel to consistently maintain the positive image conveyed by the new uniforms through discipline, professionalism, and responsible conduct.
