The Kenema Division of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has launched a sweeping crackdown on illicit drug distribution and consumption within Kenema City, law enforcement officials announced.
The targeted operation, designed to dismantle local drug dens and suppress rising crime, was spearheaded by Operations Officer Inspector Mohammed Conteh and Officer Commanding of the Operations Support Division (OSD) Inspector Barnard Ndomawa.
During the raids, which swept through several notorious ghettos and public areas, officers seized substantial quantities of suspected narcotics and arrested multiple individuals for drug possession, consumption, and loitering.
Police leadership emphasized that these actions are part of a broader, sustained campaign to eliminate drug-related crimes and restore public safety across the region.
Officials have also called on Kenema residents to assist in the effort by reporting suspicious activities within their neighborhoods.
