The Kenema Division of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has unveiled a strategic and coordinated security plan to safeguard lives and property during this year’s festive season.
The initiative was announced following a timely Commanders’ Meeting convened by the Local Unit Commander (LUC), Mr. Bob Musa Mansaray CSP, with unit commanders across the division.
The meeting focused on operational strategies designed to enhance coordination, discipline, and proactive policing in high-traffic and commercial areas during the holidays. LUC Mansaray emphasized the need for a cohesive approach, with all units working together to prevent criminal activities and ensure public safety.
In line with the plan, the Operations Officer has been tasked to intensify beat patrols, particularly within Central Business Areas, which are often prone to heightened activity during the festive season. Increased police visibility in these areas is expected to serve as a strong deterrent to potential offenders.
“The festive period comes with increased movement of people and goods, and it is our responsibility to ensure a safe environment for everyone,” LUC Mansaray said. “This strategic arrangement will guarantee effective, responsive, and professional security services delivery across the Kenema Division.”
Commanders at the meeting pledged their full cooperation, promising to strengthen supervision, enforce discipline, and implement the directives effectively. The collective resolution reached aims to maintain order, prevent crime, and reassure the public throughout the festive celebrations.
This initiative underscores the SLP’s commitment to proactive security planning and its determination to protect residents and businesses during high-risk periods.
