The initiative was led by Divisional Traffic Officer, ASP Ensah Ngunya.

ASP Ngunya emphasized that motorbike operators make up a significant portion of road users in Kenema, making their adherence to traffic regulations critical to public safety. The sessions focused on safe riding practices, the need for discipline on the road, and respect for traffic laws to protect both riders and pedestrians.

A key part of the exercise highlighted the dangers of drug and substance abuse while riding, with officers warning that impaired judgment endangers not only the rider but also other road users. The campaign also urged riders and vehicle owners to register their bikes and vehicles, noting that proper registration boosts revenue collection and enhances regulation.

The awareness drive was warmly received by the riders, who acknowledged the importance of such initiatives. Both the Kenema Police Division and the SLRSA say they intend to continue regular outreach campaigns to promote responsible road use and reduce accidents within the municipality.
