Kenema Prepares for Father Amadu's Burial Amidst Heightened Security

In the wake of the tragic murder of Reverend Father Augustine Dauda Amadu on August 30, 2025, the Kenema Police Division has unveiled stringent security measures for his upcoming burial ceremony.
The shocking incident, which saw Father Amadu robbed and killed at his Burma 3 Section residence, ignited widespread grief and condemnation across religious communities, the general public, and the Sierra Leone Police leadership.
During an operational briefing, Local Unit Commander (LUC) CSP M.N. Musa addressed assigned personnel, outlining their critical roles and expectations for the solemn event.
CSP Mansaray underscored the importance of discipline, assertiveness, and respect, emphasizing that the operation demands not only tactical readiness but also emotional maturity from all officers.
He stressed that their conduct must mirror the gravity of the occasion and uphold public trust. Furthermore, the LUC highlighted the necessity of high visibility, professional presence, and prompt response to any developing situation throughout the proceedings.
CSP Mansaray characterized this assignment as more than a routine deployment, asserting that it calls for the highest standards of police decorum and a profound respect for both religious and civil sensitivities.
He implored officers to demonstrate empathy, vigilance, and restraint in their interactions with the public, particularly given the emotionally charged atmosphere surrounding the event.
Strategic deployment plans have been meticulously finalized, with officers positioned at crucial access points, the church premises, procession routes, and the burial site. Ongoing coordination with community leaders, church authorities, and other stakeholders aims to ensure a seamless and secure ceremony.
