Kumba Zainab Briama Joins Riga FC: A New Chapter for Sierra Leone's Star Striker

Kumba Zainab Briama, Sierra Leone’s prominent striker, has officially signed a two-year professional contract with Riga FC in Latvia. This agreement follows her distinguished performance with FC Kallon Female, where she consistently excelled in the Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League (SLWPL).

During her tenure with FC Kallon Female, Ms. Briama was awarded the Golden Boot in the 2023-24 SLWPL season for an impressive 39 goals. Her prior accomplishments include 26 goals in the 2022-23 season and 24 goals in an earlier season, solidifying her status as a dominant force in Sierra Leonean women’s football.

Recognizing her exceptional talent, agent Chernor Musa Jallon facilitated trials with AIK in Sweden and other clubs in France during 2024, culminating in her transfer to Riga FC in June 2025. 

Her move to Latvia’s premier division, the Optibet Virslīga, presents a significant opportunity for her professional and personal development, allowing her to enhance her skills and gain experience within a more competitive environment, thereby advancing her career.
