Umaru Kargbo, former manager of Saboath Construction and General Merchandise Company, recently appeared in court on charges of stealing Le 292,800 from the company's Zenith Bank account. The prosecution, led by Inspector M.K. Taylor, presented key evidence through the testimony of civil engineer Cyril K. Jusu.

Jusu, an eyewitness, identified Kargbo as the former manager. He recounted that in December 2024, a review of the company's bank account revealed an alarming discrepancy between the expected and actual balance. To verify the figures, the accountant provided the bank statements.

These statements, presented as Exhibit A during the proceedings, are central to the accusation. They reportedly show that between April 2 and November 29, 2024, while Kargbo was manager, the alleged theft occurred.

The prosecution is using these financial records to demonstrate the unauthorized depletion of funds from account number 6010184525 at Zenith Bank Rawdon Street, Freetown.

Despite defense counsel I.J. Sesay Esq.'s plea for bail, Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah denied it due to the gravity of the offense, remanding Kargbo to the Male Correctional Facility.

The case has been adjourned to June 30, 2025, where the bank statements will continue to be a crucial piece of evidence in proving the alleged larceny by servant.
