Johnson Bisman Kamara, a 38-year-old labourer, has been remanded in custody after appearing in court on charges of wounding with intent and assault occasioning grievous bodily harm to James Demby.

The defendant faces three counts: wounding with intent, wounding, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, all contrary to Section 47 of the Offence Against the Person Act 1861.

The particulars of the case allege that on Wednesday, November 5th, 2025, at Fourah Bay Road in the Western Area of Freetown, Mr. Kamara wounded James Demby with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm. The charges further state that on the same date and at the same location, he maliciously wounded and assaulted Mr. Demby, resulting in actual bodily harm.

Mr. Kamara did not enter a plea as the matter is currently under preliminary investigation. He was unrepresented by counsel and proceeded to cross-examine the witness, James Demby, himself.

Magistrate Fornah denied bail, citing the gravity of the alleged offences. The case has been adjourned until December 10th, 2025.
