Law School Sets Mandatory Dress Code for Admitted Students

The Sierra Leone Law School has directed all admitted students to strictly observe its dress code during the orientation ceremony on Monday, 2 November 2026, and throughout their time on campus.
In a notice dated 27 October 2026, Registrar of the Council of Legal Education, Daniel J. Lavally Esq., said the orientation would begin at 9:00 a.m., stressing that students must be formally and neatly dressed at all times.
Male students are required to wear a black or navy-blue suit, white shirt, black tie, black formal shoes and dark socks, with their hair neatly groomed and trimmed.
Female students must wear a black or navy-blue dress suit, or a black skirt or trouser suit with a white shirt or blouse. They must also wear black, closed-toe formal shoes without ornaments. Flats and modest chunky-heeled loafers are permitted, while sandals, slippers and casual shoes are prohibited.
Hair must be neatly groomed, makeup and jewellery kept modest, and dangling earrings avoided.
The Council said the dress code reflects the institution’s standards of discipline, professionalism and decorum, adding that full compliance is expected of all admitted students from the orientation ceremony onwards.
