The Lawyers' Society issued a statement concerning the proposed Annual General Meeting (AGM) and elections of the Sierra Leone Bar Association (SLBA).

The Society reported that its leadership had noted various social media indications suggesting that the SLBA elections were scheduled for June 6, 2026.

The statement reiterated the Society's consistent position that it does not recognize the Tuma-led Executive of the Sierra Leone Bar Association. Consequently, the Lawyers' Society announced that it neither endorses nor approves the execution of any electoral process under an Executive whose mandate is currently subject to judicial determination.

Finally, the Society expressed its expectation that members would carefully evaluate the circumstances of the proposed process and ensure their actions adhere to the principles of due process, legality, and acceptable professional conduct.
