Mambu: SLPP will surpass APC's political longevity

Moses Mambu, Public Relations Officer of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), has expressed confidence that the ruling party will secure further electoral victories, eventually surpassing the All People’s Congress (APC) in total years of political leadership achieved through democratic processes.

Speaking on Slik TV, Mambu acknowledged that the APC governed Sierra Leone for over 30 years but asserted that portions of its rule were not achieved through democratic means. He stated that while the APC ruled the country for more than 30 years, it was "not entirely through the democratic will of the people, as some periods were undemocratic."

Mambu argued that the SLPP is now on track to equal or surpass the APC’s political longevity exclusively through legitimate democratic means.

The SLPP official also described the APC as an offshoot of the SLPP, maintaining that the ruling party holds a foundational political advantage over the opposition. He asserted that since the SLPP is the "father" organization, it should remain politically distinct and superior to the APC.

Mambu further predicted victory for the SLPP in the next general election, which he claimed would position the party for a third successive term and subsequent future electoral success.

Mambu’s remarks contribute to the escalating political debate ahead of Sierra Leone’s next electoral cycle, as both the ruling SLPP and opposition APC continue to intensify their political positioning.
