Man Jailed 18 Months for Damaging Vehicle

Osman Mansaray has been sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment after pleading guilty to maliciously damaging parts of a Hyundai vehicle in Kinghama Road, Freetown.
Appearing before Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah at the Freetown Magistrate Court, Mansaray admitted to the single charge of malicious damage arising from the September 21, 2026, incident.
Prosecution details revealed that Mansaray caused extensive damage to the vehicle, including a windscreen valued at NLe 9,600, two front-door handle openers valued at NLe 2,400, and a front right-side mirror valued at NLe 2,400. Total damages amounted to NLe 14,400.
The Hyundai (registration AWS 965), owned by Issa Bangura, was under the care of Saidu Jalloh when the offense occurred.
Despite having no prior criminal record, Mansaray’s admission of guilt led directly to his sentencing.
Taking the early guilty plea into account, Magistrate Brima Jah ordered Mansaray to serve 18 months at the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown.
